The interstellar crusades were a simultaneous collective effort by the Holy Particle Congregation and its organized militia to enforce the Interstellar Travel Act against the opposing Kammakan of Houses.
History
In [] TEC, the Interstellar Travel Act was passed by the Kammakan of Houses, permanently grounding all interstellar races. The Kammakan was convinced to do so by the Holy Particle Congregation, who enforced the erroneous narrative that sub-material travel was being fatally endangered by the corruption of nuclear waste. While intially reluctant to pass such a signifcant act, especially due to its repercussions on interstellar finance and trade, the Kammakan eventually passed the act under the pretense that the Kammakan itself would continue to use sub-material travel for their own purposes. What the Kammakan did not expect, however, was the HPC's full intention to universally enforce the ITA. This misunderstanding was primarily borne out of the widespread belief in the Kammakan of Houses that the HPC was not genuine in their beliefs about the Holy God-Machine. While this belief was true for the most part during the early days of the HPC, years of organizational changes eventually led to an iteration of the HPC made up of fanatical believers in the power of the Holy God-Machine. Along with this fanatacism came significant followership, allowing the the HPC to enforce the ITA with a massive religious militia.
The acts of enforcement by the HPC began with the destruction of subports and killing of sight-seers, eventually growing to mass genocide of sight-seers and destruction of sight-seer schools in Anadeia, making almost all sub-material travel effectively impossible.
