The sub-material plane was the general name for the zero-degree plane, four degrees below Eros, wherein material could take up no space and no time was observed. When exposed to radiation and not being observed, mutite was known to enter the sub-material plane, only reappearing in another place in Eros, and only when that place is observed.
Upon entering the sub-material plane, materials went through a process known as spacial detraction, wherein the material would condense into an infinitely small point. Upon reentering Eros, all material would return to its original placement and would read as if absolutely no time had passed.
